Dear Friends and Clients,

As Coronavirus (COVID-19) has spread in the United States, we know that many of you have already taken steps to ensure you and your family's wellbeing. We want to assure you that North Elm Animal Hospital is serious about keeping you, your family and our team members safe and healthy.

We are monitoring the situation closely and following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Within our Clinic, we're focused on protecting your health and the health of our team. We practice rigorous cleaning procedures throughout the entire clinic and are handwashing with soap and water between patients.  We are wearing masks, and we've asked our team members who are feeling ill to stay home.

We understand the well-being of our pets is just as important to us as our own health. We are now offering full veterinary services, with few limitations.  Please call us for more information, and inform us if you are ill or may have been exposed to the virus. In order to protect both you and our staff, we request that clients stay in their car upon arrival at the hospital. Please call (336) 505-4435 upon arrival and we will come to your car for your pet, and will ask you to remain in your car.  Please adjust the settings on your cell phone to allow blocked numbers, as we may be calling you back from a variety of numbers. If you are experiencing an emergency with your pet and you are unwell, please inform our team members and we will be happy to assist you in getting your pet inside the clinic, and we ask you to remain in your car. We will also deliver food or medications to your car and place them in the back seat or trunk. If you are personally under quarantine and your pet needs medical attention, please call us for help and instructions.

We now have telemedince available through Airvet, an app you can download onto your phone in order to request a virtual exam with a veterinarian. See our information about telemedicine on this website. Be sure to request a CALL REQUEST, not an On Demand call to be sure you speak with a vet from North Elm. On Demand calls will connect you immediately with a veterinarian in the USA, but not necessarily one from North Elm. They are best used for those late night issues.

We are also offering a larger supply of certain medications to reduce traffic through our office. We are encouraging our clients to order their foods and medications over the phone before coming in.  You can also use our online pharmacy, available through our website homepage.

Please be assured that we're closely following developments and will respond quickly as circumstances change. We are keeping up with all of the updates and will be changing and evolving our practices as we know more about this disease. We will stay calm and abide by all of the regulations set forth by the CDC. The health of you, your family, your pets, our team members and our communities are our first priorities.

Sincerely,

Claudia Sims DVM
