Courtney N. Elder

Dr. Courtney Elder became an associate at North Elm in 2010 after earning her DVM from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has always called Greensboro home. Although she was born in Charlotte, she has been a Greensboro native for 26 years. Dr. Elder has always been passionate about caring for animals from the neighbor’s dog down the street, to the orphaned kitten, squirrel or bunny dropped off into her care. She earned her bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University in Zoology and graduated Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian. While obtaining her DVM, her focus was on small animal medicine. She was President of Christian Veterinary Fellowship, and was a member of the Veterinary Honor Society Phi Zeta. As a doctor her professional interests include internal medicine, feline medicine, and geriatric care.

Dr. Elder has a spunky 5-year-old Brittany Spaniel, Dolly, who is always eager for love. She also has Oliver and Calvin, both 10-year-old shelter cats who are big snugglers. More recently she saved two crazy kitty littermates, Willy and Badger, whose antics always keep her on her toes. After rescuing the 1-week old kittens from a parking lot and bottle-feeding them, they have grown into healthy cats. She and her husband, Jesse Clark, are the proud parents of a baby girl named Ava. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, photography, reading, nature, and wildlife rehabilitation.
